Search engines rank web pages on the following basis :
• The quality of keywords on your web page; and
• How often those keywords appear on the page (the frequency)
Keywords used on your web page must be catchy and relevant. Proper measures should be taken to avoid any spelling mistake while writing keywords. Search engines also consider the frequency with which keywords appear. The frequency is usually determined by how often the keywords are used out of all the words on a page.
Example : If the keyword is used 4 times out of 100 words, the frequency would be 4%.
